Description:
The surveillance and crowd control of the Feijenoord Stadium and its surroundings was formerly done from two separate control centers. One for the stadium: the Feijenoord Observation Post (FOP) and one for the police, the Police Observation Post (POP). The Stadium and the police force wanted to improve the cooperation between the two centers. This led to the basic thought of creating one command centre for the two organizations. vhp made the design for this new command centre. This design consisted of the following components:

  • A new work organization with three types of workstations: camera surveillance stations, communication stations and command stations.
  • The design of the layout of the centre in which the two organizations will improve their cooperation.
  • Detailed design of the furniture with all equipment
  • Architectural adaptations such as floors, partitions and ceilings.
  • Installations such as the climate installation, lighting, the fire and burglar alarms etc.
  • The camera installation, such as the number of camera displays and their location on the desks
  • The Graphical User Interface for the camera selection and control.
  • All other information displays such as tv’s and LCD displays: their position and control.

The new post has been thoroughly evaluated during the match between the Netherlands and Germany. Aside from a few points of improvement, everyone was enthusiastic about the results.
